This past weekend we had intended to go to Calgary to have a very overdue visit with some precious family there. When those plans changed we ended up being a part of some amazing stuff.
Saturday morning we were overwhelmed with a garage sale that our family - Blake and Paula Holt and Jeremy and Buffy Keay put on for us, along with the Thursday night group from the Holt's church. They did an incredible amount of work that touched us deeply and helped us move forward financially with our adoption. There are no words to express our gratitude. I will post some pictures of that event.
When the garage sale was all cleaned up we headed to Ellerslie Baptist Church for a GLA (God's Littlest Angels) Fundraiser. What an amazing night! The orphanage is run by some incredible people - and run really well. They are doing amazing work and we were so blessed to catch a glimpse of our child-to-be's home and to have our passion for the orphans of Haiti fueled by these wonderful people and their stellar commitment.
This week we will have our mandatory "International Adoption Class" which is another step in our Canadian adoption approval process. There we will also take a few steps towards the completion of our home study. It is a week filled with thoughts and prayers for our new family member. Thanks for caring. We are encouraged.
